Susannah Newell

Susannah Newell graduated from the University of London with a BA (Honours) in Politics. An advocate for the decriminalisation of sex work, she was awarded a scholarship from the University of Cambridge for her thesis on free choice in sex work. After graduation, she worked in the publishing industry for seven years before becoming a writer. As a contributing writer for a domestic abuse organisation in the UK, her writing focuses on survivors and victims of gender-based violence and sexual violence. At Penn, she hopes to explore her research interests, including linkage analysis, geographic profiling, escalating deviant behaviour, and databases like ViCAP and CODIS. Her career goal is to work in serial violent crime analysis or for a nonprofit organisation that locates and recovers missing persons and unidentified human remains.
