Leila Cottin is a 20-year-old Fulbright student from France who will be pursuing a master in criminology at the University of Pennsylvania. She graduated with high honours from an International LLB in France and spent a year abroad at McMaster in Canada. She subsequently completed a master’s degree in European studies at the KULeuven in Belgium, majoring in EU external relations and minoring in EU-US relations. She is also a R.A. on a study focusing on the organization and social meanings of yoga in correctional settings. Her areas of research include the influence of support systems post incarceration on reinsertion and recidivism as well as child protective services and their impact on adulthood. Leila is involved in multiple associations and club. She recently founded her own association dedicated to help disadvantaged French students access the legal and political field. She also enjoys yoga and Pilates, traveling, and reading.
