
Gabriele Welp graduated magna cum laude from Fordham University with a BS in Psychology in and is currently enrolled as a criminology graduate student at the University of Pennsylvania. During her undergraduate career, she worked as a College Aide with the NYPD, where she was assigned to the Counterterrorism Bureau’s Critical Response Command (CRC), Counterterrorism Division (CTD), Lower Manhattan Security Initiative, as well as the Chief of Personnel’s Office. During her time with the NYPD, she worked hands on with explosive detection K-9s, received certification in Incident Response to Terrorist Bombings, Belt Trauma Kit Training, and Chemical Ordinance, Biological & Radiological Awareness (COBRA), assisted with coordinating the NYPD’s language initiative, and worked alongside investigative units to help coordinate intradepartmental translators. Post-graduation, Gabriele was selected for the FBI New York Field Office’s Citizens Academy and continues to work with their Alumni Association, where she participates in range training, assists with canine scent detection training and engages in community outreach. To gain further background into the legal system, she worked as an intern with the Rockland County District Attorney’s Office during the summer of 2025. Gabriele’s primary research interests involve sex trafficking and crimes against children, with a sub-focus in victimization. In her free time, Gabriele likes to do CrossFit, travel, scuba dive, read, and spend time with friends and family.
