Ashley Wang recently graduated from New York University with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Law and Society. Her academic work explored the intersection of psychology and law, focusing on how prejudice and systemic inequities shape legal outcomes. Ashley developed an interest in intervention strategies aimed at addressing institutional racism, reducing crime, and expanding opportunities for underserved communities. She is particularly interested in early prevention efforts, including education, mentorship, and restorative justice programs, as ways to mitigate criminogenic risk factors in low-income neighborhoods. At UPenn, Ashley hopes to continue her research on how systemic inequality and racial bias disproportionately impact marginalized groups, with the goal of advancing policies that promote both justice and community well-being.
