Paloma Brand is a masters student in the criminology and social work dual degree program. She grew up in San Antonio Texas. In 2019 she graduated from Our Lady of the Lake university with a B.A. in criminology and a minor in psychology. During Palomas undergrad career she interned with the Texas attorney general in the child support division as well as volunteered with the interfaith welcome coalition. After graduating she worked in a children’s shelter for a year and then worked as a case manager for a child placing agency for six months. Her interests include child welfare, juvenile delinquency, and reducing recidivism by utilizing theory backed approaches.
