Charles “Chuck” Gaza has been a practicing attorney for over twenty-seven years. He is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. During his time at school, Chuck also served as as a non-commissioned officer in an artillery unit with the United States Army Reserves. Following law school, he was commissioned as an officer in the United States Air Force where he served as an Assistant Staff Judge Advocate. As a Captain in the Air Force, Chuck served as the Chief of Military Justice for the 6th Air Refueling Wing and as a Special Assistant United States Attorney for the Middle District of Florida. Later, he served as the Area Defense Counsel for the Air Force Legal Services Agency in Washington D.C.
In 2001, Chuck returned to his home state of Pennsylvania and served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Chester County District Attorney’s Office. He left the office in 2008 to work as a solo practitioner in Kennett Square, then returned to the District Attorney’s Office in 2012 as the Chief of Staff. In this role, Chuck managed major case investigations, supervised specialized prosecution units, and served as a liaison between the DA’s Office and the 47 municipal and state police departments in Chester County.
After leaving the DA’s Office for the second time in 2020, Chuck co-founded the law firm of Gaza & Hogan, focusing on criminal defense and independent investigations of government employees and officials on behalf of municipalities. Over the course of his career, Chuck has been involved in hundreds of criminal investigations and has personally tried over 75 jury trials covering offenses ranging from Homicide to DUI.
Chuck has been happily married to his wife, Anne Shea Gaza, since 1997. They have two children, Kaelyn (24) and Zack (21), as well as a 200lb Mastiff named Thaddeus.
