Master of Science in Criminology
Rachel Puckett graduated from the University of Alabama Honors Program in May 2013 with a B.A. in Communication Studies and minors in Civic Engagement & Leadership and Italian.
During and after her undergraduate studies, Rachel coordinated the Walker County Internship Program, a collaboration between the university and the Walker Area Community Foundation that places students in community-embedded internships benefiting local nonprofits and promoting academic inquiry outside the classroom. The internship is part of a statewide interdisciplinary program administered by the David Mathews Center for Civic Life.
After graduation, Rachel joined Impact America, a nonprofit in Birmingham, Alabama that engages recent graduates, college students, and AmeriCorps members to address community needs through four key initiatives, which focus on health, financial literacy, and education. She served as program manager and debate coach for SpeakFirst, an initiative that uses academic debate as a platform to guide Birmingham City middle and high school students on a path toward excellence in college and beyond.
