Haley Hansen

Master of Science in Criminology

Haley is a master’s student in the Department of Criminology.  She graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana- Champaign in December 2016 with a B.S. in Psychology and interdisciplinary minor in African Studies. During her undergraduate career, Haley interned at Young in Prison South Africa located in Cape Town while she was studying abroad her junior year. Most recently, she was an intern at Urbana Champaign Books to Prisoners where she was a jail librarian in the Champaign County jail. Her interests within criminology include reintegration of former inmates and ways to reduce recidivism, as well as racial and ethnic disparities within the incarcerated population.
