On July 6th and 7th, Richard Berk gave invited talks at a workshop on criminal justice applications of artificial intelligence organized by the U.S. General Accoutability Office and the National Academy of Sciences. The Government Accountability Office (GAO) was asked by the House Committee on Science, Space and Technology to assess AI technologies. To fulfill the charge, the Computer Science and Telecommunications Board of the Academies is assisting GAO plan a workshop to investigate AI technologies in diverse sectors of the economy and society.
