The National Institute of Justice hosted a Real-Time Crime Forecasting Challenge in February in order to conduct a comprehensive comparative analysis of available crime forecasting software. Winners were announced this summer. Penn Criminology professor Dr. Charles Loeffler headed Team Kernel Glitches, which tied at nine for most victories in the Large Business contestant category.
