Lorena Uriarte

Lorena is a Masters student in the Department of Criminology. She previously graduated from The College of New Jersey in May 2017 with a B.A in Criminology and minor in Psychology. She is a member of the criminal justice honor society, Alpha Phi Sigma. While at TCNJ, Lorena conducted undergraduate research focusing on gun violence, specifically the ShotSpotter program and its effects in the Trenton, NJ area. She also researched the pre/post effects of a gun violence intervention program within Trenton. Her research interests include gun violence, the issues surrounding overpopulation in prison and how to reduce the overall prison population, as well as bail reform.
